Kelantan Beaches and Islands

Kelantan has no islands off its coast. However there are several beaches in idyllic setting. Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB) is the most popular beach in Kelantan. It is located about 10km from Kota Bharu, and enroute are several cottage industries like batik making, brassware, silverwork and kit making. Located 14km from Kota Bharu is Pantai Dasar Sabak, the area where the Japanese army landed in Malaya during World War II and made their long march inland to Singapore. Coastal erosion by strong wind and waves, however, has destroyed bunkers along the coast. Regarded as the most beautiful beach in Kelantan, Pantai Irama (Beach of Melody) is located about 25 km south of Kota Bharu. It has a gently sloping beach, clear waters and good tourist facilities Like motels, restaurants, camping grounds, toilets, as well as boats for hire. Pantai Sri Tujuh, remotely located in Tumpat, has wide sandy coastline.
