Kuala Lumpur Monorail in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur monorail system in Malaysia opened 31 August 2003. This monorail connects Kuala Lumpur’s main station KL Sentral with the “Golden Triangle”. It was built for RM1.18 billion by KL Infrastructure Group Berhad (KL Infra) that holds a 40-year concession to operate the monorail. Monorail car are able to accommodate 158 passengers each during regular operations. KL Monorail, being the newest addition to the Klang Valley public transport network has come up under serious criticism by the public over the way its stations have been connected to the other systems in the current network. For example, the KL Sentral monorail station in malaysia was built 140 metres away from the main KL Sentral building, separated by a giant car park and a busy road. Initially, no covered pathways were provided until much later. Recently, stalls for petty traders have been put up along the covered pathway causing the pathway to be crowded, poorly ventilated and difficult to navigate due to poor signage. The Titiwangsa KL Monorail station and Sri Petaling and Ampang Line stations are next to each other and are almost at the same elevated level. However, pedestrian access between both stations require pedestrians to descend to the road level below before entering the other station. However, integration issues are not limited to KL Monorail, none of the Klang Valley public rail transit system are built for seamless integration, whether in ticketing or interchange. The KL Monorail in malaysia has a design speed of 90km/h and an average service speed of 30km/h.

i would suggest to kl monorail to have a safety netting below the track area so that we can prevent from dropping something of the road…tq..
