Mai Daerah turtle sanctuary

This is another turtle sanctuary gazetted by the Terengganu State Government to be a nesting ground. Located in Kerteh, green turtles as well as the painted Terrapin are among the turtles here. Activities you could participate in include tagging the turtles, transferring newly laid eggs into the hatchery, releasing turtle hatchlings at night, and joining the night patrols along a 1.7km stretch of beach for any turtle landings. Best time to visit is between May to July.
