Penang Tourism

Penang referred to as ‘The Pearl of the Orient’ by the British who ruled the island for more than a century, has long been a popular beach getaway since they made it their favourite playground in the east. Popular beaches are found up north of the island Batu Ferringhi, Teluk Bahang and Tanjung Bungah. They are well-served by international chain hotels as well as a choice of mid to budget-priced accommodation. Waterbased activities like waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing and water scooters are plentiful. Round island cruises and island hopping are also available. Nightlife along the beach resorts is exciting, food is great and shopping is a pleasant experience.
