Tasik Bera
Located in Pahang, Tasik Bera is Malaysia’s first ‘Wetland of International Importance’. Rich in biodiversity, Tasik Bera was declared as a Ramsar Site in November 1994, following the Ramsar Convention which allows traditional and wise use of the area. The lake, among the biggest in Southeast Asia, supports a rich flora and fauna community, including the endangered species such as false Ghairal, tigers, tapirs and elephants. The lake area is also home to some 200 species of birds, among them herons, waders and ducks. Tasik Bera is served by chalets and boats can be hired at the resort for trips around the lake.
